PADUCAH (WSIL)-- Paducah Mayor Brandi Harless is finishing her last month in office.

Monday marked day 30 of Harless's month of gratitude, where she said something she was thankful for each day.

"I was thinking about the last two months of my service as mayor, I was trying to think about how could I both reflect and also celebrate what we've accomplished over the last four years. And I saw one of my friends had started doing the month of gratitude where she posted every day of what she was thankful for in November. And it inspired me and I started on November first," said Harless.

Harless has posted about veterans, healthcare workers, and the people of Paducah.

"At the end of the day it's about people. It's about people who live here. It's about people who choose Paducah as their home. So for me, I'm just thankful for all the relationships that I have built with people that I would have never met otherwise," said Harless.

Harless has completed her month of gratitude, but she still has plans for the month of December.

"Starting tomorrow, I'm gonna shift to a celebration social media campaign where we're gonna reflect and celebrate the successes and accomplishments we've had over the last four years," said Harless.

While Harless's term ends at the end of the year, she has a message for the people of Paducah.

"I just really wanna say thank you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve. Thank you for the opportunity to--I was thinking about this morning--my post this morning was 'I was elected by some, but I was elected to serve all.' And I am just so honored and priviledged that I had the opportunity to do that," said Harless.

You may recall Harless lost the primary battle in June to George Bray and Richard Abraham.

Bray was elected in November and will be sworn in next month.
