Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Ridgway locals put up holiday displays for families

RIDGWAY (WSIL) -- The community is coming together to bring holiday cheer to families.

Over the past few years, residents or businesses are given a section of the village's park to decorate as the please.

Then families can drive -thru and see the holiday displays including lights and cutouts.

This year, some of those include a giant rocket ship, an elf of the slide, a nativity scene and Santa with his reindeer.

It's just one way the small community tries to put a smile on lots of faces.
