METROPOLIS (WSIL) -- Rising levels on the Ohio River is forcing Harrah’s Metropolis Casino and Hotel to temporarily close its doors.
In a news release, the business says it plans to close its doors Sunday at 9 p.m. Employees will continue monitoring river levels and forecasts. The casino-hotel plans to reopen later this week.
As of 6 a.m. Sunday, Ohio River levels at Paducah, Kentucky, were last measured at 47.68 feet according to The National Weather Service, placing Paducah above moderate flood stage.
