Doniel McKenzie, 46

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is searching for an escaped inmate.

Authorities say on February 26th, Doniel McKenzie was granted a temporary leave to spend time with a family member under hospice care.

The Williamson County courts stated that McKenzie had to report back to the jail no later than 4 p.m. on March 2nd.

WCSO says McKenzie never returned and they discovered he had cut off his ankle monitor.

McKenzie is described as a 46-year-old male, with brown eyes. Authorities say he is 5'9" and 190lbs.

McKenzie currently has pending cases for arson, meth possession, and aggravated domestic battery.

Since fleeing, WCSO says he is now wanted on an escape charge for not returning to the jail.

Authorities say McKenzie could be attempting to travel from Springfield to Decatur, Ill.

Any information on McKenzie's whereabouts can contact the Williamson County Sheriff's office or submit a tip on the Williamson County Sheriff's app.
