SO. ILL. Unity Coalition to host MLK Love Train

(WSIL) -- The is kicking off the holiday weekend with an MLK Love Train.

Here's the schedule (with estimated times):

Harrisburg: Bonan Business Center at 11 a.m.

Marion: Ray Fosse Park at 11:20 a.m.

Carbondale: University Mall at 12:30 p.m.

Murphysboro: Murphysboro Soccer Field at 1 p.m. The event will conclude with a short program.

Volunteers will be at each stop with decorations for cars along with snacks and water.

Coordinator Nancy Maxwell says this is a fun opportunity to learn about our nation's history.

"I feel now that black people have a voice. They get to lift their voice and sing now and it actually mean something. And it's important to recognize who helped us along, who started this and one day we want to see Martin Luther King's dream actually come true," she said.
