(WSIL) -- September is National Preparedness Month. The ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý 7 Health Department wants you to make sure you're prepared for just about anything.
In recent years, flooding, tornadoes and a pandemic have highlighted how important it is to prepare for natural disasters. But officials say half of Americans don't have a family emergency plan. They say its more than having supplies and supply kits ready.
"Look again at those outside of the normal things that you would think about for an emergency. It does go beyond a food supply. It's making sure that you have all of those things in place. And it does take time to do it but, it's
well worth the effort" said Shawnna Rhine, Outreach Coordinator with ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Seven Health Department.
