KENTUCKY (WSIL) -- Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and his Team Kentucky have put out a report, releasing an update on the state's storm response. The report, dated February 23, 2025, is meant to keep Kentucky residents abreast to what their state government is doing in this time of disaster.
Totals in the report are as follows:
Power Outages - 660
Road Closures - 108
Sheltering in parks or hotels - 301
Sheltering in schools or churches - 274
Written declarations from local counties and cities - 100
Weather-related deaths - 21
Governor Beshear says this is one of the worst natural disasters the state has seen in years. Both the Governor, and First Lady Brittany, have been out visiting Kentuckians who are struggling with recovery and clean-up. On Thursday, February 20th, Brittany Beshear visited the Emergency Operations Center to thank Team Kentucky members who work during extreme conditions. The KY EMA office headquarters are located in Frankfort, with field offices across the commonwealth.
Yesterday, Governor Beshear posted a Reel to his social, including video taken in Pike County. In the video, Beshear reassures residents that they will get attentive care and courtesy while navigating this disaster.
