CALDWELLL COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials arrested a man after a lengthy car chase around the county's courthouse.Â
Sheriff Don Weedman of Caldwell County released information on the situation on Wednesday morning. According to the release, Deputy Mac Englebright noticed a navy-blue Ford speeding down KY 139 south while tracking radar.Â
Weedman said Englebright quickly jumped into action and tried to stop the car on Jo Jones Road. The driver ignored Englebright, though, and sped along.Â
Englebright reportedly followed the car along KY 293 south, reaching reported speeds of 100 miles per hour. The pair traveled around the courthouse and into the parking lot at Ms. Piggy Pig's.Â
Weedman said the driver was Dawson Teague, 23, of Princeton, KY. Authorities arrested Teague and, according to Weedman, received charges for the following:
- Fleeing and Evading Police
- Wanton Endangerment -- Police Officer
- Speeding, 26+ miles over the limit
- Possession of MarijuanaÂ
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Teague was brought to the Caldwell County Jail but remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
The Princeton Police Department assisted with the situation.Â
