CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Residents in Carbondale spent the weekend nerd-ing out before Sunday's big eclipse.Â

SIU in Carbondale hosted Saluki Con, the city's local comic con, on Saturday and Sunday. The event throws a slew of festivities geared at celebrating Science, Technology, Arts, Humanities, and Comics.Â
This year was special for the event, seeing the rebrand of "Eclipse Con." The event first began in 2017 before that eclipse with the same name.Â

Attendees of this year's Saluki Con were treated to panels from officials in the fields mentioned above, workshops and demonstrations, local vendors, a cosplay contest, and overall great networking chances.Â
Some of the guests featured at the event include Blake Foster, Alex Zahara, Brad Moore, Mandi Jourdan and more.Â
Tune in to WSIL on Sunday at 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. for more from Saluki Con.Â
