CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- Police have arrested a man in Caruthersville after discovering his participation in sexual-related conversations with underage females.

Officers spoke with members of the group Bikers Against Predators (BAP) on Beckwith Avenue around 5:50 p.m. Saturday. The group informed police of a man they believed was speaking inappropriately to minor girls.

BAP had sent a member in as a decoy to speak to the suspect. The decoy reported having sexually-driven conversations with the man, even though he believed her to be a 13-year-old.

Police spoke to the suspect and obtained his cellphone for evidence of the accused crime. They were also given copies of the conversation between the suspect and the decoy.

Officers returned to Beckwith Avenue on Sunday to arrest the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as Johnny Armstrong, 58. Armstrong has been sent to the Pemiscot County Justice Center and faces the charge of possessing underage adult content.
