Fallen tree crushes truck in Jackson, MO

JACKSON, Mo. -- A fallen tree in Forest Acres crushed a truck on Saturday. 

The Jackson City Government took to  to let residents know of the incident. According to the post, the tree uprooted and fell on the truck in the 900 block of East Jackson Trail without warning. 

Officials say the truck was abandoned at the time the tree made contact, so no injuries occurred. 

Resident April Rhodes commented on the post to reiterate how intense the tree falling seemed. 

"I was outside on our porch [when the tree] hit the ground," wrote Rhodes. "I could feel our house shake. It was scary. We rushed over to make sure no one was hurt; they were lucky!" 

City officials say the Street Department team was deployed to the scene to clean the debris and clear the road. 

Any residents who see a street, service or utility problem in Jackson are urged to call the city at 573-243-2300.
