CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- John A. Logan College gave two scholarships to future student ambassadors.

Ashton Fox and Rylee Rutledge of Crab Orchard received giant checks representing the scholarships at a meeting for prospective students at the college. The scholarships awarded totaled $7,250 each and served as part of the college's Student Ambassador Program.

The Student Ambassador Program gives students a chance to serve in leadership positions and represent the college. The ambassadors help incoming students learn about the environment and offerings at the college. Not only do they host campus tours, but they also perform outreach at local high schools and community events.

The college's president, Dr. Kirk Overstreet, presented the checks along with other staff and the students' families.
