CARLISLE COUNTY, Ky. -- UPDATE: Mississippi County Coroner Terry Parker says the body found in the Mississippi River is that of Rose Mary Weaver, 81 of Cape Girardeau.
Weaver was claimed as a missing person by the Cape Girardeau Police Department last week and was last seen near Broadway and North Main Street on July 30.
Parker said Weaver's body was found near Wyatt on August 4.
AUGUST 7, 8:33 a.m. -- Authorities are investigating a body found in the Mississippi River from over the weekend.
The Carlisle County Office of Public Safety said their emergency officials received a 911 call from the US Coast Guard about a body found floating in the Mississippi River this past weekend.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Carlisle County Coroner, Sheriff Eric Perry, and other officials from Hickman, Fulton and Ballard Counties.
The body was reportedly found just inside the Missouri waterways and was later turned over to authorities in Missouri.
The Mississippi County Sheriff's Office is investigating the matter. Captain Barry Morgan tells News 3 they believe it's a woman, roughly 80-years-old.
Authorities do not suspect foul play. Morgan said they are waiting on results from an autopsy which was performed on Monday.
