DEXTER, Mo. -- Police took a man into custody on Tuesday after an alleged robbery at a convenience store.Â
The Dexter Police Department sent officers to Break Time Convenience Store at about 12:21 a.m. on Monday, June 18. The store at 302 W. Business Highway 60 had called about the attempted crime.Â
Officers learned that a white male around 6 feet tall supposedly pulled an item the worker assumed was a gun on her and tried to take money. The employee said she was able to kick the suspect out without giving away any money.Â
Officers reviewed the footage from the event. Samuel Kilbreth, 26, of Puxico, Mo., was seen in blue jeans, a red sweatshirt and a cap.
Officers "later" were able to take Kilbreth into custody in Puxico on a Probation and Parole Warrant. Investigators say they discovered physical evidence during a search of the residence.Â
Kilbreth received the following charges from Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Sawyer Smith on Tuesday, June 18:
- Class B Felony of Attempted Robbery
- Unclassified Felony of Armed Criminal Action
- Class D Felony of Assault
- Class D Felony of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Class E Felony of Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution
- Class E Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Subsection 4-Exhibiting
Kilbreth was taken to the Stoddard County Jail.
