According to Mayor Will Stephens, the intersection will operate as a three-way stop for several days.

Extensive storm damage at Riverside Park was also reported, along with the lack of power. This has caused the city's Independence celebration to be rescheduled until Saturday.

It is unknown at this time if the band which were originally scheduled for the event will be rescheduled, Stephens mentioned. He said it may just be the firework's display.

Stephens also mentioned residents with any trees limbs down from the storm may bring it by the storage yard in Murphysboro along Shoemaker Drive through 4 p.m. on Friday and from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday.
