This is for the Marion station located in Goreville, Illinois, which covers 15 southern Illinois counties, along with portions of southeast Missouri and western Kentucky.
ORIGINAL: February 2, 10:43 a.m. -- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is reporting some outages in regards to weather radios in the southern Illinois area.
NOAA stated problems receiving the NWR (NOAA Weather Radios) broadcast, could be either due to issues with the NWS transmitter, your NWR receiver or possibly both.聽
A map on their site shows a transmitter lies in Goreville with a frequency of 162.425. This coverage area ranges from portions of southeast Missouri, portions of western Kentucky and most of the 15 southern counties in Illinois.
The transmitter states the operating status is "Out of Service" as of 10:55 a.m. on February 2, 2024.
