Police investigate homicide in Sikeston, SEMO Major Case Squad activated

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting incident as homicide in Sikeston.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety said it happened on November 13. Officers repsonded to a report of someone shot at a home in the 100-block of N. Handy.

When officers got to the home, they found a male who was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sikeston DPS said the victim was identified as Anthony Evans of Sikeston.

The Sikeston DPS Criminal Investigations Unit started investigating this incident as a homicide.

The SEMO Major Case Squad has also been activated to assist in the investigation.
