Second suspect arrested in exotic car theft investigation

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- Graves County officials have arrested the second suspect in an exotic car theft investigation. 

Deputies stopped Ricky W. Cook, 45, of Clear Springs, on KY Hwy 58 around the airport at about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. Cook visited the area numerous times as of late, tipping officials to the area.

Cook began driving at around 100 mph to avoid the stop but then slowed to 0 mph not far from initial contact with deputies. Officials took Cook into custody after the stop with no issues.

Cook's alleged thefts totaled up to over $100,000 in missing vehicles. 

Officials brought Cook to an out-of-county detention center and charged him with the following:

  • Theft of Property valued at over $10,000 but under 1 million
  • Theft by Deception over $10,000
  • Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument
  • Burglary
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Criminal Trespass
  • Possession of Handguns by a Felon
  • Possession of Firearms by a Felon

The investigation is ongoing by officials.
