MARION, Ill. -- A new, locally run market is coming to our region.聽
Jeanne's Farm Market posted Thursday afternoon updating its following about its ongoing plans to start a physical location. According to Jeanne, she has been working to renovate an old Shell Gas Station into the store and is now ready to open on Monday, July 29.聽聽
Jeanne plans for the store to be open Sunday through Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
"I do not want to compete with the Marion Farmer's Market dates on Wednesday and Saturday," said Jeanne. "I think this is a great opportunity to reach folks that work on typical market days."
Jeanne plans to have the market open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the aforementioned days. She says she will host seven local vendors each day to sell homemade items.
"This is an unknown venture!" said Jeanne. "I do well setting up by myself in the building. I just want to help others get their start as farmers, ranchers, crafters, bakers and so forth."
Vendors will be charged a $15 fee to set up each day. Jeanne plans to push hard with advertising and marketing efforts for the market.
