UNION COUNTY, Ill. -- The Union County Sheriff's Office announced an auction for a set of knives Thursday morning.

The set includes 30 blades of varying styles. The dates for the knives range as well.

Union County officials will accept sealed bids for the set. Bring the bid inside an envelope with a name, telephone number and amount of the bid to the Union County Sheriff's Office by 8:00 a.m. Wednesday to have the chance to win the prize. Officials also ask participants to write "knives" on the outside of the envelope.

Deputies will announce the winner of the knives on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.

The winner will have 48 hours from the announcement to pay for and collect the prize. Bid money will only be accepted in cash or via check. If the winner fails to meet these guidelines, officials will contact the second highest winner.

All proceeds from the bid help the Union County Sheriff's Office Anti Crime Fund.

Those with questions should call David Waun at 618-833-5500.
