Hunters in Illinois took a total of 76,854 deer during the 7-day firearm season.Â
Comparatively, hunters took 48,964 deer during the first firearm weekend in 2021.
Phillip Carnell, 58 of Sikeston, went missing November 13 while hunting near Cave Spring in the Ozark National Scene Riverways. His body was located on November 16, near the area he had planned to hunt.Â
