- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 17.5 feet

Former NBA Commissioner David Stern Dies

(WSIL) -- David Stern, the man who reshaped the NBA and turned the league into a financial powerhouse, has died. Hew was 77.

Officials say Stern died as a result of the brain hemorrhage he suffered approximately three weeks ago.

According to the NBA Stern's wife, Dianne, and their family were with him at his bedside.

Stern became NBA commissioner in 1984 and kept the leadership role for 30 years.
