...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 28.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.0
feet early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
30.7 feet on 01/26/1949.

Joe Melton is the newest Banterra Player of the Week

NORRIS CITY (WSIL) -- NCOE's Joe Melton is thenewest Banterra Player of the Week winner.

On Thursday, the WSIL team presented Joe with a T-Shirt. It was a complete shock to Melton, who was never told by his team, coaches or school. They kept it a surprise.

Melton won with 57 percent of the votes.

"It's overwhelming. I've got a good community that backs us up and really supports our team and school," Melton said.

"We're just a small school and we really don't get out much tournaments and stuff like that. We haven't won very many here lately. And winning the GEC is very big for us And I don't think we've ever done it before, have we?
