Marion falls to Triad

MARION (WSIL) � The Marion Wildcats played host to the Troy Triad Knights Saturday. 

It was the 15th year in a row the Wildcats made the playoffs.

First quarter, it’s Triad from the 15. Logan Wongler with the Quarterback keep runs it in for score and a 7-nothing Triad lead.

Later, it’s Wongler again, connecting with Luke Forman for the 11-yard touchdown pass.

Late in the quarter, Marion’s Lucas Wills passes 27 yards to Venson Newsom in the endzone. The 2-point attempt was no good, making it 14-6.

In the second quarter, Marion’s Drake Gravatt goes 17 yards for the score pulling Marion to within 20-12 at halftime.

But turnovers and special teams play hurt the Cats.

The Wildcats fall by a final of 55-28 to end the season 8-and-2.

Triad advances to face Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin. The Cyclones upset Morris � 43-35.
