CARBONDALE, Ill. -- ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois University announced they have parted ways with the men's basketball head coach Bryan Mullins and a national search has begun for his replacement on Friday.
Mullins was the head coach for the SIU basketball team for five years, racking up a record of 86-68, the latest season being 19 wins to 13 losses and a record of 11-9 in the conference.
This move comes after the Salukis lost on Thursday night in double overtime to UIC 84-82 in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
"I have tremendous respect for everything Bryan has accomplished throughout his career as a Saluki," said SIU Director of Athletics Tim Leonard. "He guided our program with class and integrity, was an outstanding role model for our student-athletes, and handled himself as a true professional."
Leonard said a national search will begin immediately to replace Mullins.
