Carterville IL. (WSIL) -- As we start the new work week on Monday we should begin to see a gradual warming trend with our temperatures. Expect high temperatures to go from the low 70s to around 80 degrees by the time we get to Wednesday. Overnight lows will also warm. Still expecting upper 40s until we get to Tuesday night into Wednesday when the low temperature will spike in the upper 50s as southerly flow increases. For fall weather lovers don't worry! This will be a short lived spike in temperatures as a cold front approaches Wednesday Night.Â

Unfortunately for us, there once again is not much rain in the forecast. We initially had hoped the cold front approaching midweek would provide some moisture for the region but this does not seem to be the case. We may see some isolated activity late in the week but no significant rainfall looks to be heading our way. We are still staying away from drought as of right now, but we have to start being concerned about a drought revival if we continue to not see impactful rainfall in the future.Â
