Carterville (WSIL) -- Another spectacular day today across the area with temperatures soaring into the mid and upper 60s for most everyone today! Biggest change from yesterday is that the winds have relaxed a great deal. This helps lower the threat for that fire danger that we had yesterday.Â

Rain chances will remain small through the remainder of the work week with the best chance for rain being on Friday. Even Friday looks quite isolated in general and not everyone should expect to get wet.Â
Not good for drought prospects across the region with the drought continuing to worsen across our NW counties especially. We should see some actual relief come early next week with our next big cold front.Â
