Carterville Ill. (WSIL) -- Another warm day on tap today with the chance for those pesky afternoon thunderstorms across the area. Temperatures getting into the mid 80s again before a chance to see more widely scattered thunderstorms. Much like we saw yesterday these storms won't occur for everyone but they will be heavy rain makers. They also have a chance to produce some strong wind gusts and have some small hail as well.Â

Biggest threat just like with yesterday's storms will be the heavy rain and localized flooding threat if you get under one of these storms. They are usually slow movers since there's no real mechanism in the atmosphere to push them along once they develop and that's what helps to cause flooding issues.Â
Another potentially more widespread chance for storms comes overnight into the morning hours on Wednesday when a cold front finally pushes through our area and will give us a chance at more rain before clearing and leading us into a cooler and sunshine filled end of the week!
