Aaliyah Mulero is a Western Kentucky native, however, she was born in Puerto Rico. Thanks to her father's service in the U.S. Army, Aaliyah has spent most of her time growing up in Hopkinsville, Ky.
After high school, Aaliyah continued her education at Western Kentucky University majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in entrepreneurship. During her time at WKU, Aaliyah was the executive producer for Extra Point, a student-run sportscast. She also anchored and reported on the student-run newscast, News Channel 12. Both shows received multiple national and state awards during her time in the programs.
After college, Aaliyah started her career in Evansville, Indiana as a multimedia journalist. There, Aaliyah tackled an abundance of stories including the presidential campaign trail, major crime investigations that pulled national attention, and confronted multiple city officials on alleged wrongdoings with taxpayer dollars.
Throughout her time in the news, Aaliyah says her favorite aspect of the job is connecting with communities and families.
When Aaliyah is not on your TV screen, she can be found at home relaxing with her future husband.
