...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values of 100 to 107.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana,
western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health
impacts will build with each successive day in the heat and
humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Nursing home holds special parade for residents

BENTON (WSIL) -- Dozens of people lined up to see their loved ones Thursday at StoneBridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Benton.

StoneBridge held a special Friends, Family and Community Parade for residents, as COVID-19 continues to keep long-term care facilities closed to visitors.

Benton Fire and Police took part as well, while residents held signs, practiced social distancing, and enjoyed the parade.

"So they were very, very happy to see them all in the parade. We had a wonderful turnout, the community, everybody was great. Just to show love and support, just to get together and have a good day.," said StoneBridge Administrator Kelly Bishop.

Bishop said while the residents are not able to meet in-person with their family and friends, they are staying strong and the staff is committed to their well-being.
