THOMPSONVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- One area group is changing their ways in helping those who are food insecure.
Food on the Move is a mobile pantry which brings food to communities in need. They partner with the Saint Louis Area Food Bank. They are also one of the first food banks to have a mobile walk-through, shopping-style food distribution program.
Antonio Barner is the program's coordinator for Food on the Move. He tells us how this could benefit the community.
"It's all about choice. So, people have the right to choose whatever they like off the truck and trailer, instead of it being like mobile market where it is already gathered in a box and it is just put in their car," said Barner.
Other community members said they are grateful for the Food on the Move program. They will be in the area every 2nd Thursday on the month.
