CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- Christmas is one week from today.
Have you shipped out those packages yet? The deadline to get those presents to loved ones by December 25th is quickly approaching.
If you're planning to use The UPS Store to send out packages, the option to use first class shipping has longed passed. Brandon Leffler is the owner of The UPS Store in Cape Girardeau, and he says delays are just one of the reasons your family and friends may not receive your gift on time.
Another reason to ship items as soon as possible is because more Americans are choosing to ship packages this year because of the pandemic. Leffler said if you absolutely want your package to arrive before December 25, here are some options he recommends for you.
"Oh, well, if you're procrastinating, like I say, we do have quicker options with next day air and second day air. This is the highest shipping volume that I've seen. So, if you can get here sooner than later, then great. If not, like I said, we do offer some other options," said Leffler.
The United State Postal Service also has a couple of options available such as Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express. The deadline to use Priority Mail is December 19. If you use Priority Mail Express, your items must ship out no later than December 23.
