(CNN) -- Something new is coming to Facebook.
Instead of just giving a smiley face or thumbs up to react on the social media platform, users now have a way to show friends and family support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Facebook, the new "Care" reaction is a smiley face hugging a heart. On Messenger, the new reaction is a pulsating heart.
The new reactions begin rolling out Friday.
