CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Carbondale Police are investigating an early morning home invasion.
Officers were called to the 900 block of West Sycamore Street just after 5 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a gunshot victim.
Investigators learned two masked men with guns entered a home and demanded money. The men shot one victim and hit another with a gun before taking off on foot.
Police say the gunshot victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects were described as:
- a white male 5�7�-6�0� tall, wearing a ball cap, frameless glasses, a dark color sweatshirt with a hood and black shoes with red or pink laces.
- a black male 6�0�-6�3� tall wearing a white and red bandana, a dark color sweatshirt with a hood, glasses with amber color lenses, a white ball cap and dark color shoes.
Southern Illinois University Department of Public Safety and the Jackson County Ambulance Service assisted during the incident.
