CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Carbondale police are investigating a robbery that occurred early Thursday morning last week on South Illinois Avenue. Officers responded to the scene after a victim reported being approached by two men.
According to police, one suspect, identified as Justin M. Cemail, 35, of Chicago, took the victim's electric scooter and brandished a knife. The other suspect tried to take more of the victim's property, but was unsuccessful, police added.
The victim managed to flee without injuries, police reported. There is now a warrant for Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking for Cemail, however, he remains at large. The second suspect's identity is still unknown.
Authorities described Cemail as a white male, 6'1" tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
