ORIGINAL STORY

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Two teenagers were arrested in connection to an armed robbery report in Carbondale over the weekend.

The Carbondale Police Department said at 5 p.m. on January 25, officers responded to the 400-block of South Graham Street for a shots fired report.

As officers were investigating the call, police said a juvenile came by the police station and reported he was just robbed. Police said the victim informed them on how he was robbed, describing how some individuals had a gun and demanded property from him while they were in the 400-block of South Graham Street. The victim also stated one of the suspects fired the gun while the victim was leaving the scene in a vehicle.

Police said the victim left this area with two other people in the vehicle with him. They then stopped in the 300-block East College Street where one of the other people in the car reported to have displayed a gun and demanded property from the victim also. Police then said the suspects ran from the vehicle after taking some of the victim's property.

At this time, the victim then drove to the police department.

Police later said the parents of the two suspects then brought in their juvenile kids to the police station.

Both a 15-year-old from Carbondale and a 16-year-old from Carterville were then arrested for Armed Robbery, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, police stated. The teen suspects were then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Police said they are seeking another teenager to ask some questions in connection to this incident.
