Dangerous cold today and tomorrow

WSIL(Carterville, Ill.) -- This morning, we are tracking temperatures that are down right cold across most of the region. Temperatures for most of us are in the single digits across the region. The warmest locations are in our southern counties across southeastern Missouri, and northwestern Tennessee, where temperatures are around 10 degrees. Wind chills are even colder, with most places reporting windchill values between 0 to 5 degrees. 

For these cold temperatures, we are tracking a Cold Weather Advisory that is in place between now and 12 PM this afternoon. Temperatures will continue to remain cold through the entire day with highs likely only reaching the mid to upper teens to lower 20s across our southern counties. Wind chills today will likely remain in the lower teens to single digits for most spots. 

Skies today will remain mostly sunny thanks to an area of high pressure of high pressure that will be with us all day. Overnight, a few clouds will pass through the region, but no precipitation is expected. Temperatures tomorrow will be even colder, with morning lows expected to once again drop into the lower single digits, with sub-zero wind chills expected.
