Carterville, IL. (WSIL) -- This week we start with nice weather but certainly warm! High temperatures are going to grow into the low 80s by the time we get to Tuesday and Wednesday. Southerly flow gets strong so we should expect breezy conditions out of the south starting Tuesday. These will also help increase humidity a bit as we head towards Thursday. These warm and breezy conditions will continue until the cold front arrives on Thursday.Â

This cold front arriving on Thursday actually looks to have some beneficial rain to it unlike most we have seen recently. Timing will be key for outdoor events but luckily for us this looks to come in for most of the area in the first half of the day. Expect some moderate to even brief heavy rain as it passes potentially impacting the morning commute. This will bring a much needed 1-2 inches of rainfall for a lot of the area.Â
