Alexander County enhances voting access with $109K grant for paving

TAMMS, Ill. (WSIL) -- Alexander County Clerk Zachary Price secured a $109,000 grant to enhance the accessibility of polling locations in Alexander County.

"I am thrilled to announce that on April 21, paving has begun at one of the locations that is being improved, the Tamms Community Building," said Price.

Once the improvements at Tamms are complete, the Olive Branch Community Center is next in line, followed by the McClure City Hall.

Price emphasized the significance of the project, stating that the paving will enable all individuals, regardless of disability, to navigate the parking lot confidently when voting.

This initiative aims to ensure that everyone in Alexander County can access polling locations with ease and dignity.
