CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Hangar 9 will soon close its doors for good.
For decades, Hangar 9 has been a staple of the Carbondale Strip, dating back to 1978.
Our team confirmed they will be closing by the owner of Hangar 9, Sally Carter.
Carter took ownership of the business in 1980. The business even was damaged in 2009 during an ice storm. Carter then had the building rebuilt in the same location.
The business went up for sale earlier in 2024, going for nearly $800,000.
Unless someone is interested in buying it in the next month, Carter says, she'll close the business at the end of the year.
