FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL)---Five Franklin County teens were involved in a tragic crash nearly six months ago; a crash which three involved passed away. On Monday, a hearing took place for one of the surviving members.

Parents Jamie Gostowski and Kellis Williams are still grieving their 17-year-old son Bradley Williams, but wondering if they will get justice for their child.

"The fact that this happened has rocked my world, to think I was not able to fully protect my son." Jamie Gostowski said.

“You know there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about him or go pick up the phone to go call him, Kellis Williams said.

We talked with family members of the crash victims in front of the Franklin County Courthouse where the teen driver of the devastating crash appeared before a judge.

The parents of Bradley Williams came out to find closure as to what happened that night, reflecting on memories of their son before they went in the courtroom.

"He was just finally starting to find himself. I wouldn't let him get his license until he turned 17 because he was not mature enough, Gostowski said. "He was happy, funny, goofy. He wrestled with my son. He and my daughter were 15 months apart, and my house is forever changed. And our lives are forever changed.

"No court case, no lawsuit, nothing is gonna bring my son back," Williams noted.

Gostowski said she wanted to be at the court hearing and seeking an apology.

"I don't believe she showed up to my son's funeral or anything. I just want to be able to see her. Being that I haven't gotten any type of consensus that there's any remorse or anything from her," Gostowski said.

This is after five Franklin County teenagers were involved in a deadly crash last September. Prosecutors in Franklin County are now having a hearing with the driver of the car at the time of the crash.

"They brought all of Southern Illinois together, and that's the biggest positive, the only positive that I can take away from this. I mean it's tragic," Williams said.
