CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- An investigation continues into the circumstances involving motorcycle pursuit in Cape Girardeau which ended in a deadly collision late on March 13.
The Cape Girardeau Police Department said the crash involved a semi-truck and took place on Southern Expressway, resulting in the death of a 38-year-old man from Jackson, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, taking over from the Cape Girardeau Police Department. An internal investigation by the Cape Girardeau Police is also underway.
Police said the pursuit was initiated by the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office before the city police joined. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances leading to the collision.
