KENOSHA (WKOW) Anyone affiliated with MSNBC has been banned from the courthouse in the homicide trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, following an incident Wednesday night.

Kenosha Police Department tweeted Thursday morning a person alleging to be affiliated with a national media outlet was briefly taken into custody for several traffic violations. At the time, police suspected the person was trying to photograph jurors in the trial.

Judge Schroeder said in court Thursday the person claimed to be a producer with MSNBC News and was instructed by a supervisor to follow the jury bus. That person was ticketed for violating a traffic light.

The jury is taken on a bus to another location after court ends for the day so they don't see any demonstrators or are not influenced by any outside factors.

Judge Schroeder banned anyone from MSNBC from being inside the courthouse for the rest of the trial and called this an "extremely serious matter."

Police confirm, again via tweet, that no photos of the jury were obtained. The investigation into the incident remains open.Â
