RIVES, Tenn. (WSIL) -- Officials across Obion County urged residents to evacuate after rainfall continued wreaking havoc across multiple communities this weekend.
The Rives Volunteer Fire Department told residents to leave their homes and place a note on their door to let officials know they have left. This allows emergency responders to focus on helping those who may still be at their flooded homes.
Much of the community in Rives dealt with floodwaters entering homes and covering streets.
Another part of the county was Kenton where they saw the Rutherford Fork of the Obion River breached. This caused officials to call for an evacuation on the east side of the city where water flowed to homes and other structures.
In Union City, the fire department informed their residents about a possible levee breach after creek levels rapidly dropped, indicating the water was flowing in areas which affect residents and motorists.
County officials urged everyone to remain cautious and alert authorities if they see any areas of concerns.
