Paducah to host spring cleaning event for residents

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) Paducah is gearing up for its annual City-County Spring Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 3rd.

City officials say this is when the community can dispose of garbage and hazardous waste for free.

This event will happen from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Republic Services transfer station.

Officials say anyone participating must bring a valid form of identification to verify that they are a resident of Paducah and/or McCracken County.

Paducah officials recommend separating your hazardous waste before disposal to speed up the trip.

Officials say the annual event brings in over 700 vehicles a year, with the disposal of over 200 tons of garbage, appliances, and scrap metal.

If you have specific questions, contact the city at 270-444-8511.

More information on what items are allowed to be disposed of and traffic flow information can be found on the
