Brookport Bridge closing Friday morning

MASSAC COUNTY, Ill. -- The Ohio River Brookport Bridge will close on Friday morning. 

Crews have scheduled a 9:00 a.m. closure for maintenance. The bridge should reopen by 2:00 Friday afternoon. 

Officials will use this time to walk the bridge for annual inspections and minor maintenance. 

Drivers are recommended to use I-24 to detour.
