Graves County Bus Attack

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- Deputies arrested a man on Thursday for the physical disruption of a school bus and attempted burglary of a home.

Bruner

Officials with the Graves County Sheriff's Office first learned of the misconduct of Andrew D. Bruner, 41, of Pilot Oak, toward a school bus around 2:56 on Thursday afternoon. According to investigators, Bruner noticed to the bus stop at the intersection of Kentucky Highways 94 and 129. Bruner allegedly approached the bus and began pounding on its windows. Witnesses say Bruner's motive appeared to be to break the windows of the bus. While he failed at this, investigators say Bruner did manage to break a mirror on the driver's side of the bus.

Investigators say the bus began to pull away as soon as its driver noticed Bruner's actions. Bruner, in his anger, attacked and damaged two other vehicles in the area. Deputies say no children nor adults received injuries due to Bruner's activity.

Once the bus pulled away, Bruner descended upon a home on Hwy 129. Reports from officials say Bruner was yelling in the yard and believed to be under the influence of drugs. Deputies tackled Bruner and began to arrest him. Bruner's efforts to escape led to him getting sedated.

Further investigations into the incident revealed to deputies Bruner had broken a window at the home before authorities arrived. This is when the homeowner notified officials of the situation.

Graves County Deputies, with the help of two Graves County School Resource Officers, arrested Bruner on the following charges:

  • Wanton Endangerment
  • Menacing
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Resisting Arrest

  • Public Intoxication
  • Disorderly Conduct

Bruner received a prior felony conviction for a home burglary in Pilot Oak in 2021 and for stealing a firearm in 2022.
