CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- What does the future of Crab Orchard Golf Club hold? Only time will tell. It is up for auction in the fall.
"The golf course is finally up for sale," Crab Orchard Director of Golf Steve Heckel said. "I'm looking forward to retirnment, I've been in the business 52 years, I'd like to retire and have a little down time for myself. We hope to keep the golf course a golf course. We have a few prospects in keeping it a golf course, rather than selling it and having a devlopment put here. After doing a liftime of improving and maintaining the facility here since it's inception, it was in 1959 so it's been here 61 years and we'd like to see it remain a golf course."
