...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /1 PM EDT/ SATURDAY TO 7 PM
CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values between 100 to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ Saturday to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will cause heat impacts to be greater than
normal.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Miners take down Grizzlies in exhibition game

MARION (WSIL) — Well just a couple of exhibition games left in spring training for the Miners as they get set to kickoff their 2019 campaign. With the final home game of spring training, the Miners welcoming the Gateway Grizzlies to Rent One Park.

Miners� first baseman Chris Iriart with the big bat on the day, a grand slam in the third would put Southern Illinois up 5-0, a lead they would not look back on.

Miners close out their exhibition schedule on May 7, taking on the Evansville Otters in Paducah.
