Murray State leaves for NCAA Men's College World Series

MURRAY, Ky. (WSIL) -- The Murray State University baseball team is set to make its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Men's College World Series.

The team departed from the Barkley Regional Airport in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 11, heading to Omaha.

"This is exactly what Barkley is here for: supporting our regional community, celebrating its wins, and helping its stories take flight," said Dennis Rouleau, Executive Director of Barkley Regional Airport. "We’re honored to play even a small role in this incredible milestone. Most of all, we’re proud of the gifted players and dedicated coaches whose hard work and heart made it all possible. Let’s go, Racers!"

This marks a significant achievement for the university and the local community, showcasing the talent and dedication of the players and coaches.

Murray State will play UCLA on June 14, at 2 p.m. ET.
